Indian Wells Open: Shock Upset by Italian Lucky Loser Luca Nardi Causes Novak Djokovic to Crash Out

<p>The top-seeded Novak Djokovic was eliminated from the ATP-WTA Indian Wells Masters on Monday after falling to the rated Italian Luca Nardi in three sets.</p>

<p>After a shock third-round loss for Djokovic in his comeback to Indian Wells, 123rd-ranked Nardi prevailed 6-4, 3-6, 6-3.</p>
<p>Since 1990, Nardi is the only player outside of the Top 100 to have defeated a world champion at the Masters level.</p>
<p>Now that he’s faced seven Italian opponents, Djokovic has lost five of them, with three of those encounters including Jannik Sinner, the fourth-ranked player.</p>
