KTM’s Upcoming 390 Experience: An Early Look at the 2025 Model

KTM is getting ready to reveal the 390 Adventure of the future. The 2025 390 Adventure, which was previously seen testing abroad, is likely to be an exciting advancement over its predecessor.

The test mule was recently seen near Bajaj’s Chakan facility, and it has shown some interesting improvements and design modifications that suggest a machine that is more resilient and focused on rallies.

The forthcoming 390 Adventure has a drastically different look than its road-focused tourer counterpart, more in line with a hard-core rally bike. A noticeable plastic beak, knuckle guards strengthened with metal, a sturdy metal bash plate, and a tall single-piece seat are among its notable characteristics.

Sharp lines, a sculpted appearance, and a smaller profile all add to the motorcycle’s aggressive appearance.

The LED projector headlight on the front fascia is stacked vertically and framed by LED DRL strips, giving it a unique horseshoe design. The single-piece seat and shortened tail section add to the bike’s overall Dakar Rally vibe. The bike’s structural improvements are further enhanced by the redesigned trellis frame, subframe, and swingarm.

Beneath its updated look, the 2025 390 Adventure has significant technological advancements. There is a noticeable increase in tank size, indicating a possible capacity increase.

Large grip rails on both sides of the pillion perch compliment the single-piece seat that replaces the split seat assembly.

Although the tires are identical to the present model, they include dual-purpose Metzeler Tourance rubber. The braking hardware is different, with a right-side-mounted disc and an axially-mounted front brake calliper.

WP USD units up front and a fully adjustable monoshock down back handle suspension chores.

Test mules exhibit varying wheel sizes, with wire-spoke wheel sets providing more mobility.

Anticipate the 2018 390 Adventure to come equipped with enhanced rider aids, riding modes, ABS modes, launch control, better fast shifter, and more.

Notably, the bike’s improved utility is aided by an underseat exhaust and a bigger grab-rail.

Although the engine and gearing specifications are yet unknown, the 390 Adventure is probably going to stay true to its performance heritage. The present 398cc mill, which is 39 Nm and 46 horsepower in output, is a loan from the Duke. There are four variations of the current 390 Adventure, with prices ranging from Rs 2.81 lakh to Rs 3.61 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

As with the recent release of the 390 Duke, expect to pay a little more for the new model.

The KTM 390 Adventure is up against fierce competition in the competitive adventure bike market from the Royal Enfield Himalayan (Rs 2.85 lakh – Rs 2.98 lakh) and the BMW G 310 GS (Rs 3.30 lakh).
